let's go out

There are a lot of old soul songs with this chord progression. I find when digging through this type of music, the chord progression comes up every now and then and is very predictable. I have always liked a similar flip by the brilliant tomppabeats, but I obviously wanted to put my flavour on it. The "ooooh"s at the start had to be different, well, the whole song had to be different. So how do you accomplish that with such a derivative chorus?

My solution ended up being a combination of synth, use of a few little drum breaks, and a lot of jibberish - "oh my dollar, oh my dollar" and "let's go out oh out oh out get her" etc to make the hook fun. I love making jumbled vocal parts that make the song unique. You can sing along and not be worried about getting the words right.
